Flowers Hospital is a 235-bed healthcare facility offering inpatient, outpatient, medical, surgical, diagnostic and emergency care for the Dothan, Alabama community. We believe in the power of people to create great care. We’re 1,400 healthcare professionals strong. We are a major referral center for the Tri-State area of south Alabama, southwest Georgia and northwest Florida – and we work hard every day to be a place of healing, caring and connection for patients and families in the community we call home.
The Flowers Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program is based at this primary clinical site with all required rotations based at the hospital or within its ambulatory network in and around the Dothan community.
This hospital serves as the primary training site for residents’ inpatient rotations in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Critical Care (ICU), Night Float, and Emergency Medicine. Residents are immersed in a supportive, team-based clinical learning environment. The continuity clinic, located on the hospital’s main floor, offers dedicated workspace for all 39 residents during their outpatient continuity clinic rotation every fifth week.
Subspecialty experiences are a mix of inpatient and outpatient experiences and will occur at Flowers Hospital or specialty clinics within the CHSPSC, LLC ambulatory network. The residency program is supported by hospital and program leadership with eagerness to see each future resident excel through training, mentorship, and collaborative scholarly pursuits. Flowers Hospital is home to a newly-constructed resident lounge, call and lactation rooms and resident-only workspaces.
